Are You in the Wrong Job?
It is estimated that between 60 and 80% of all workers are in the wrong job.
How could that be?
It's almost like there's a special force at work trying to stop people finding out what jobs they are good.
Yet despite that statistic, there are clearly some people who do love their job, and know
how to choose a career that will give them tremendous job satisfaction.
Some people can genuinely say "I can't wait to get back to work on Monday".
Most people laugh at me when I tell them that there really are people who love their job.
There is a small minority of the population for whom going to work on Monday is bliss.
So what is it about these people who love their job?
Are they just lucky?
Are they the sort of people who would be happy in any type of job, no matter what?
Or are they just happy for the moment but soon will be like the rest of us and realize that they are also in the wrong job.
Why Do Some People Love their Job
I believe that these job lovers were able to identify exactly what type of job they would love to do, and set about getting that job.
Although I am not totally sure why some people are able to do this so naturally, I do know that after years of providing
career change advice, one of the problems that stops many people accurately identifying which career they are best suited to is because of the expectations of others.
Frequently these expectations of others are at a subconscious level.
Often no words even need to be spoken by those who influence, but internally we don't feel comfortable pursuing a certain career because of what other people might think.
I am not who you think I am.
I am not who I think I am.
I am who I think you think I am.
Sometimes these expectations are ill-founded, but that doesn't mean they don't affect us.
I have noticed that amongst the minority who do instinctively know what work they want to do, a good percentage of them
knew what they wanted to do
from a very early age.
If you are not in that minority group of people who love to go to work on Monday, you can discover what things you are very best at by completing the dream career finder
inborn job skills assessment.
This is the best career assessment tool that I know of.
If you would like help in any area of your career or job search,
you can ask a job search or career question in my career forum.
This is currently a free service and I generally respond to all questions within 24 hours.
